Official semester opening 2020/2021 and concert with Arvvas
Opening of the 2019/2020 academic year. Welcome to Kautokeino and Sámi University of Applied Sciences - both new and not so new students! We celebrate with speeches, greetings and with a concert outside Diehtosiida's amphitheater.

Each year we celebrate the beginning of the academic year with speeches and a concert. We have invited President of the Sámi Parliament of Finland, the mayor of Kautokeino Hans Isak Olsen and Director of ISFI Ánne Lájlá Utsi to speak. After the speeches, there will be a concert by Arvvas.

In the duo Arvvas, Steinar Raknes and Sara Marielle Gaup meet through joik and americana, creating new music full of energy. Raknes with his rasp voice and innovative krumspring on his double bass is an orchestra in itself, and together with Gaup's traditional rich and innovative joik, Arvvas music naturally blends together like two rivers that meet.

- Due to the corona situation, we have to carry out the marking in a particularly structured way. It is therefore important that you submit a registration to the event. We can not guarantee that those who have not submitted a registration can attend the ceremony. You need to register for this before 20.08.2020 to oahppohalddahus@samiskhs.no.
- It will be pointed out that those students who have stayed in countries that the Norwegian government has marked as red countries, are obliged to be in quarantine for 10 days upon arrival in Norway. This means that if you want to participate in the celebration of official opening of the academic year on 26.08, must be in Norway no later than 15.08.2020.
